Senior lecturer at the Department of Education, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev; feminist activist and volunteer in women’s organizations in Israel.

Her research concerns discrimination and agency in private space (the family) and public space (education and employment) in Palestinian society. In describing the experiences of Bedouin women in institutions of higher learning in Israel, she has also studied issues of racism and gender. Currently, she is conducting research on the experiences of women students of Ethiopian origin at institutions of higher learning. 

She was awarded the “Ot Katan” Prize by the Ruach Nashit (Women’s Spirit) organization for combining feminist activity with her research work. Also, she was chosen as sociologist of the month at Current Sociology Journal for her publication.
