Dr. Sarit Barzilai
Member, Consensus committee: Adapting curricula for the 21st century
Bio sketch: Dr. Sarit Barzilai is a Lecturer in the Department of Learning,
Instruction, and Teacher Education in Faculty of Education of the University of
Haifa, and a Principal Investigator in the LINKS Center for research on
learning in a networked society. Before
becoming a full-time academic, Dr. Barzilai worked for fifteen years as a
professional instructional designer of web-based learning environments. Her current research focuses on examining learners’ epistemic
thinking and metacognition in digital contexts, such as learning with multiple
information sources and with digital games, and on developing innovative ways
in which digital technologies can be used to advance learners’ ways of knowing. She holds a PhD in Education from the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem, received in 2012.
