Proffesor in the mathematics education program, heads the M.A. program in Education of Gifted and Talented in the education faculty's Department of Counseling and Human Development, and directs the Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Advancement of Giftedness and Excellence (RANGE Center) at the University of Haifa. Her areas of expertise include mathematics teachers' knowledge and professional development, mathematics challenges in education, giftedness and creativity in mathematics. Dr. Leikin earned her D.Sc. in 1997 in mathematics education (teacher education) from the department of science education at the Technion.
