professor in the Department of Science Education at the Weizmann Institute; he served as department head from 2001 to 2005. He did his post-doctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley; his current research focuses mainly on teaching and learning mathematics in middle school and high school. Prof. Arcavi holds a Ph.D. degree in mathematics education from the Weizmann Institute of Science, received in 1986.
