Committee chair from its inception until 2008. Professor (emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics at Tel Aviv University. Her main research interests include the structure of Modern Hebrew, acquisition of Hebrew as a first language, and the cross-linguistic study of later language development and text construction abilities. Prof. Berman earned her Ph.D. in Hebrew language from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1973.
