Symposium: Between Research and Decision-Making in Education

The steering committee of the Initiative for Applied Education Research, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education's Chief Scientist, Prof. Zecharia Madar, held a symposium on the topic of "From Research to Decision-Making in Education." Presentations at the symposium included, among other things, studies commissioned by the chief scientist.

The committee has invited Professor Judy Sebba of the University of Oxford to attend. Prof. Sebba has been a member of the UK Academy of Social Sciences since 2011. From 1997 to 2003, she was an advisor to the government and was instrumental in the establishment of organizations such as the Evidence for Policy and Practice Information (EPPI)Teaching and Learning Research Programme (TLRP); she help advance the Effective Provision of Pre-School Education (EPPE) longitudinal study. She has recently advised the National College for School Leadership concerning cooperation between schools as partners in research.
